Lookin’ for short and snappy rock news? Welcome to Rock n Roll TV! This episode: Cheap Trick record without drummer Bun E. Carlos; Vince Neil busts his foot; Pete Townshend has book; and Mike Peters of the Alarm hoax story goes to film.

Cheap Trick have recorded a new song for the upcoming charity album, ” A Special Christmas – 25 Years” which will benefit the Special Olympics. That’s all well and good but what’s weird is that Cheap trick drummer Bun E Carlos says he wasn’t invited by the band to participate in the recording. The drummer isn’t sure what type of action if any he’ll take against the group. Rick Neilson’s son Daxx has been filling in for Carlos while he has insisted he is still a full member of the band but has not been touring with them for a couple of years now.

Motley Crue singer Vince Neil broke his left foot during a gig recently. Apparently he tripped on stage but still managed to finish the show. X-rays revealed that he’d broken two bones in his foot which is now in a cast and Vince is on crutches.

In case you were wondering, Sir Paul McCartney’s Live and Let Die tops the poll for favorite James Bond theme song.

Greenday frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was rushed to hospital last week due to severe dehydration but is now doing fine. The band are planning a small venue tour for this fall.

Pete Townshend’s autobiography titled Who I Am is set for release on October 11th.

Noel Gallagher says he wouldn’t reform Oasis even if all the world’s starving children depended on it.

Justin Bieber was sick and tweeted about it and he said his fans made him feel all better.

One Direction made it look like they’re camping on the cover of their single, Live While We’re Young.

in 2004, Mike Peters of The Alarm was frustrated by the lack of attention from mainstream media who branded them as aging rockers. So he got younger band to lip sync to his song, gave themselves a new name and the result was UK chart success and of course.. the truth came out, too. Now.. the whole story is being told in a movie call Vinyl. Here’s a music video clip from the film where Phil Daniels plays the part of Mike Peters and the younger star is the kid hired to lip sync. (And yes.. that’s Lily Allen’s dad, Keith Allen in there. )
