Jeff Lynne’s new solo album, Long Wave is a tribute to some of the songs that originally inspired him. Jeff says, he called it Long Wave because all the songs he sings on are the ones he heard on the long wave radio when he was a kid growing up in Birmingham, England.

Armed police stormed Miley Cyrus’s house in Los Angeles after receiving an emergency call about a possible kidnapping and shooting. LA police and rescue crews surrounded the star’s house and soon discovered there was no one in the building. Police say the incident may have been part of a new trend of prank calls dubbed “swatting” where an anonymous call is made to get a team of police to storm a building or an innocent person’s home.

Festival founder Perry Farrell expressed gratitude that Lolla is expanding its reach and said that it would start in Tel Aviv but may do something in Jerusalem, too. He added that Lollapalooza would continue to set up shop across the globe.
