Rock n Roll TV is the show that never ends… oh wait, yes it does. Hey, this episode has Adele sweeping it clean at the Grammys, Foo Fighters rock it at the Grammys and news on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert!

Brit pop soul singer Adele swept the Grammys winning all six categories she was nominated for including Album of the year. But it was a somber night with tributes to the sudden passing of 48 year old Whitney Houston the day before along with losing Etta James recently. Amy Winehouse’s parents were invited to the stage when Tony Bennett received a Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a duo for his duet with Amy.

Even though the Grammys have never really been about rock in spite of the fact that it’s still America’s best selling genre of music… the Foo Fighters dominated the Grammys rock categories winning 5 Grammys including Best Rock Album. The show’s big finale was led by Paul McCartney with a Beatles medley and he was joined by Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh, Rusty Anderson and Bruce Springsteen.

Loretta Lynn will duet with Bret Michaels on the Poison song.. Every Rose Has Its Thorn.

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert this June will host a slew of superstars including Elton John, Tom Jones and Sir Paul McCartney as the headliner. British residents can apply for one of the 10,000 free tickets to attend. This year celebrates 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and she will be 86 years old. The concert will take place in front of Buckingham Palace and will have seating for 20,000 while organizers expect another half million people in surrounding areas hoping to catch a glimpse.

Rock n Roll TV … the music news for you from me. Hosted by Share Ross. This episode – Puddle of Mud’s Wes Scantlin arrested; Black Sabbath reunion not quite the same; Jack White solo album and no to Newt.

Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin was arrested last month after police discovered narcotics on him. He was pulled over for a traffic violation, the cops found pills and some sort of powdery substance in his possession. Wes seems to be having a rough time of things. He owes about $45,000 in back taxes to the feds and an additional $17,000 to the State of California and is in the process of getting divorced from his super hot wife.

The Black Sabbath reunion is making headlines again. Drummer Bill Ward issued a public statement advising fans that he will not participate in the band’s reunion unless he is presented with an agreement that reflects his contributions to the group’s success and longevity. Basically… he said he ain’t getting what he feels is a fair share of the Sabbath money pie and that he deserves better than what the band management have offered him. The other three members have responded publicly saying.. they are sorry to hear he feels that way… the door is open.. but they are carrying on without him with Rick Rubin in Birmingham while guitarist tony Iommi is also battling cancer.

Fans of Joy Division voiced their displeasure with the Walt Disney Company after they used the band’s iconic Unknown Pleasures album cover as the basis of a t-shirt design featuring the one and only Mickey Mouse. The image is of the first pulsar ever detected and while it is in the public domain, Disney pulled the shirt from both their shelves and online stores. Now the secondary market has taken over and the shirt is selling on Ebay for more than $250.

Former Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing is planning to open a luxury hotel in the grounds of his Shropshire home. His plans include a 63 room hotel, indoor swimming pool, spa and a top class restaurant to go along with the golf course that is already up and running.

Eddie Van Halen has donated 75 electric guitars from his personal collection to the Mr Holland’s Opus Foundation, a non profit organization that supports music education in public schools across the country. Per Eddie’s request, The Foundation will distribute the guitars to music programs in public schools throughout Los Angeles where there are not enough instruments to meet the demand of the students.
“If I can help a kid discover a liking, or even a passion for music in their life, then that’s a wonderful thing. Music has provided a good life for me and hopefully it can help make life better for others with this donation.”

Kid Rock apologized for lighting up a cigar at a smoke free Travis Tritt show in Detroit and on the opposite coin, Rihanna was photographed puffing on a  suspicious looking cigarette in Hawaii and went on Twitter to brag about its cannabis content. Ex Beatle Ringo Starr has teamed up with Dave Stewart to create a Broadway musical. The pair collaborated on the album Ringo 2012 and had enough extra material left over to write a whole stage show. Ringo says he thinks it will more likely end up as a movie and says he’s not telling us anything more about it.

69 year old soul legend and Grammy winner Aretha Franklin has announced her engagement to long term friend Willie Wilkerson. Ironically her last album was titled A Woman Falling Out of Love. Aretha adds… they are looking at a June or July date and that no, she is not pregnant.

Velvet Revolver are reuniting with singer Scott Weiland for a one off gig at the House of Blues. The show will honor their late friend and musician John O’Brien who was found dead at the age of 45 in a hotel room last year. Will it be a full blown reunion? Scott has been working with Stone Temple Pilots on their new album so not sure how a VR reunion would work.

In other news, Paul and his daughters Mary and Stella have released a new cookbook, The Meat Free Monday Cookbook to educate people about how to eat less meat not just for their health but also to influence the sustainability of the world by decreasing their environmental impact.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin was forced to defend his property when an intruder decided to give him an impromptu performance of Coldplay material. The uninvited guest started singing Coldplay songs to his friends on the street. At first, Chris gave him tips and said he wasn’t doing a couple of things right… but when the trespasser carried on… Chris politely asked him to leave which he did.

Janet Jackson has been named Grinch of the Year by animal rights group PETA….beating out director Cameron Crowe and reality TV star Kim Kardashian. Jackson teamed up with company Blackglamma to debut her line of fur clothing accessories in November. Yuck.

A recent Foo Fighters concert in New Zealand helped bring about tremors similar to those of a volcanic quake. The movements of 50,000 excited fans were registered by two seismic stations. Auckland GeoNet reported that the first quake happened during Tenacious D’s opening set but the biggest tremor came when the Foos took the stage. 50,000 fans is equal to around 5000 tons of mass moving on the ground for the duration of the concert. In recent Foo news, Dave Grohl thanked fans for an amazing 2011 and suggested that there might be a new Foo record happening next year.

Johnny Marr the king of the jangly guitar and former Smiths guitar man has been banned from driving after being busted for speeding in Manchester. How fast was he going? 72 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone driving his Audi A5. Marr’s lawyer says it’s something he deeply regrets. I bet it is with that car!

B.B. King has a movie coming out about his life. Directed by Jon Brewer it has been sanctioned by B.B. himself and he has had a lot of input as well. The film is titled B.B. King: the Life of Riley .. his real first name is Riley.. it tells the tale of a little boy who loved going to school, not so much love for church but respected his mother.. then.. his mother died and he helped his grandmother work the land but then she died. All that was by the time he was 9 or 10 years old. He became a sharecropper and earned $2.50 per month to pay for his rent and food. This will be a remarkable movie about survival and dreams. I can’t wait to see it.

The Jimi Hendrix Park is set to open in Seattle in 2012. The 2.5 acre park will be shaped like a guitar and contain lyrical stepping stones, rain drums, a sculpted butterfly garden, a performance area, sound garden and a green space as well as a fretboard shaped bridge.

Queen have abandoned an attempt at a new album with Freddie’s vocals. Drummer Roger Taylor said it was too much like a barrel-scraping exercise.

Limp Bizkit have been dropped by their label Interscope Records.

They haven’t had a new studio album since 1982 but Led Zeppelin are in the album charts again! Led Zeppelin IV originally released in 1971 went to #166 on Billboards 200 chart. Probably because the album is celebrating its 40th anniversary. When it was originally released it went to the top of virtually every album chart in the world.

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has vowed to save the Astreus, the airline he flies for. Astreus has gone into crisis mode and stopped trading this past week after Bruce landed its final flight. But he has stepped up as its new marketing director and says he has plans to create as many as 1500 new jobs in aerospace in South Wales.

I don’t think the airline industry has ever seen the likes of Bruce before.

It was widely reported last week that David Bowie had agreed to allow his songs to be used for a futuristic fantasy about his life called “Heroes: The Musical” which is premiering next year at London’s Indig02 venue. But Bowie’s official spokesman says this is incorrect and neither the singer nor his management are in negotiation for his songs to be used in the musical.

A panel assembled by Rolling Stone has named Jimi Hendrix the greatest guitarist in history. Members of the panel include: Brian May, Ritchie Blackmore, Kirk Hammett just to name a few. Key Hendrix tracks is Purple Haze and Hendrix’s rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

Boy George has urged Adele to give up smoking in order to prolong her singing career.

Ozzy has launched his own SiriusXM channel – Ozzy’s Boneyard which will feature shows hosted by the Osbourne family.

A doctor of archaeology wants Sex Pistols graffiti on the wall of a London flat to be preserved for posterity. Dr John Schofield of York University says the offensive and rude scrawling are more important than lost Beatles recordings and equally valuable as Neanderthal cave paintings. The graffiti consists of scribbles, slogans and eight sketches made by Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten while the band lived together in a flat on Denmark Street in the Tin Pan Alley music industry area of London.

Noel Gallagher has counter sued his brother Liam for libel and has claimed the former Oasis LV tried to attack him with a guitar. Noel has also said that he blames Liam for Oasis’ failure to truly break in America. He’s revealed that his brother bailed on the opening night of the band’s US tour in 1996 after then wife Patsy Kensit called and said that they needed to buy a house. First gig? 16,000 seat arena and no singer.
I think the gloves are off. Look out.

Incubus have had a string of bad luck recently. Singer Brandon Boyd had laryngitis and completely lost his voice causing the band to cancel a few gigs in Europe and now guitarist Mike Einziger has been taken to hospital with an undisclosed illness and the band have canceled more European dates.

Corey Taylor has gone public with his feelings about legendary producer Rick Rubin. Saying he is overrated and overpaid and he’ll never work with him again. Corey was at a q&a session with fans in Texas when he let loose explaining how Rick showed up for 45 minutes a week and that during those 45 minutes he would lay on a couch and have a mic brought in next to his face so he wouldn’t have to move. There is a lot more but Corey added that he still respects the producer’s body of past work but thinks that the Rick Rubin of today is a thin thin thin shadow of the Rick Rubin that he was.
